Yin yoga is a slow-paced, passive style of yoga that focuses on connective tissue, such as ligaments, tendons, and fascia, through long-held poses. Yin yoga emphasizes stillness and mindful surrender, encouraging a deeper connection with the body and mind. Poses are typically held for longer durations, allowing the body to relax into the stretch and promoting a deeper level of flexibility and joint mobility.
This one hour class starts off slow to warm up the body and then gradually becomes more intense. The room is heated to 85-90 degrees. We move through powerful standing poses and flows, various balance poses, as well as core and spine strengthening poses. At the end of class, we surrender into a slow paced cool down. Cool lavender wash clothes are offered during your final resting pose. You do not need to be an advanced yogi to take this class. It can be modified in many ways. Some yoga experience may make you feel more comfortable in this class. Your instructor will guide you through the entire class.
You can expect the use of essential oils, and hands on adjustments throughout the class.
